Construction on the 120-ha plant, the project invested by Phu Khanh Solar Power Joint Stock Company began in January 2019.
Each project has a designed capacity of over 49.6 MW and an annual output of about 76.2 million kWH, with a total investment of nearly VND2.8 trillion (US$120.4 million).
According to Tran Minh Tien, general director of Phu Khanh Solar Power JSC, the two plants are expected to contribute to spurring socio-economic development, ensuring national energy security and generate jobs for local workers.
With 2,467 hours of sunshine and an average solar radiation of over 1,700 kWh per sq.m, Phu Yen boasts a lot of advantages to attract clean energy projects.
Vietnam is amongst the sunniest countries in the world, with the Central Highlands and south central regions recording between 2,000 and 2,600 hours of sunshine every year, reported the Vietnam Clean Energy Association.
