The Vinh Tan 4 thermal Power Plant, which is invested by EVN with the combined investment capital of 36 trillion, is one of the highest quality thermal power plants in the locality. In a speech at the ceremony, Satnding Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh highly appreciated great efforts of EVN and relevant agencies for the completion and operation of this project 3 months earlier than planned. It is considered as a foundation to build Binh Thuan into a national energy center, which is expected to significantly contribute to socioeconomic development of Binh Thuan as well as in the South of Vietnam in general.
The operation of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant is expected to supply greater power to national power grid. Deputy Prime Minister Binh asked EVN to ensure the plant’ s safe operation and keep stable supply of electricity for the country, especially avoid environmental pollution during the operation. According to him, Vietnam has to generate an additional of 5,000-6,000 MW of electricity each year. Therefore, the Commission for the Managenment of State Capital at Enterprises, Ministry of Industry and Trade, and EVN need to intensify mobilizing capital for the investment in power projects, especially capital from private sector to ensure power supply for socioeconomic development.
