Taiwanese enterprises eye invesment in Son My I IP

BTO-Chairman of the provincial People’ Committee Nguyen Ngoc Hai on March 20 held a reception for a delegation of Taiwan-Southeast Asia Technology & Economy Association learning investment opportunities in Binh Thuan.

At the meeting, Mr. Hai introduced general information about the province’s economic situation as well as Son My I Industrial Park. Located in Son My- HamTan, along national No.55 connecting Binh Thuan and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Son My I IP has its advantageous position with only 17 km from the center of La Gi town, 90 km from Phan Thiet city, 180km from Ho Chi Minh city, 80 km from Vung Tau city, and 60km from Cai Mep-Thi Vai deep water port. Currently, the Vietnam Urban and Industrial Zone Development Investment Corporation (IDICO) is doing survey and setting up investment schedule fto build a sea port that can receive ships of 60,000 DWT and over at Son My I IP.

This multi-sectoral industrial zone is calling for investment in industries relating to power development and other fields such as: construction materials, electronics, IT, engineering, manufacture, assembly, forest products processing, consumer goods, food stuffs production and processing.

Mr. Hai said that, Binh Thuan opens doors to Taiwanese investors with many preferential policies and favourable conditions. He expressed his hope that Taiwanese enterprise would make  contribution to the development process of Binh Thuan. In order to facilitate the investment plan of Taiwanese businesses, Mr. Hai proposed the delegation to collect proper information about the local policies on investment attraction as well as introduce investment plans to get support from the local authorities.
