BTO - The ground breaking ceremony of Vinh Tan 4 extension thermal power plant officially took place in the morning of April 23 in Vinh Tan commune-Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province.
The 600 MW thermal power project, located nearby the current Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant uses supercritical coal-fire technology with a total investment capital of more than VND 23,926 billion, including 85 percent of loan fund from domestic and foreign borrowers, and 15 percent of reciprocal capital of investor. The clearance has been basically finished to ensure timely construction.
The contractor consortium will mobilize all resources to complete the project within 45 months, ensuring that the Vinh Tan 4 Extension Power Plant will become operational in the end of 2019 and add about 3.6 billion kWh of electricity to the national power grid each year.
Nguyen Ngoc Hai, on behalf of the province’s leaders, praises ceaseless effort of units concerned in ensuring conditions for the project’s construction. He urged the investor and contractors to step up construction progress of the project as well as resettlement areas for local residents, ensure environmental protection, safety and public order at the construction site. Binh Thuan’s leader also suggested MOIT to direct the implementation of Vinh Tan 3 Thermal Power Plant and 500kV transmission system on schedule, ensuring general efficiency of Vinh Tan Power Center project.
