Regulation on using“Tanh Linh rice” trademark unveiled

Individuals and organizations, which would like to use the protected trademark, must be engaged in Tanh Linh rice cultivation, production and business; voluntarily register and get the trademark certificate of “Tanh Linh rice” at the Tanh Linh’s Agricultural Encouragement Station; strictly comply with full range of requirements in terms of identities, high quality of the rice in accordance with the regulations in the process of production and circulation; tightly abide by the full range of contents of the trademark use agreement during the process of using the trademark certificate.

The geographic area for planting, producing and processing Tanh Linh rice must be the rice-material region where the rice is planted during production crops in the locality of Tanh Linh district.

Tanh Linh rice reveals its identity as long, white and pure, not more than 7 mm long, soft, and sweet-smelling seed. Otherwise, the rice is safe for use without residue of plant protection products, level-1 degree chalkiness and the proportion of included broken rice is only 5 percent.

The freshly-issued regulation aims to gather together organizations, individuals operating in Tanh Linh district to use the trademark certificate of Tanh Linh rice as uplifting the local rice’s trademark in domestic and international markets; facilitating the local enterprises in their rice business and manufacturing.

Earlier, the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan province has given the nod to Tanh Linh district’s center for agricultural encouragement to use the geographic name “Tanh Linh” as registering for “Tanh Linh rice” trademark certificate.
