Binh Thuan: 85.8% population covered by health insurance

BTO - According to statistics from Vietnam Social Security-Binh Thuan Branch updated on August 31, health insurance coverage of Binh Thuan reached 85.8% of the province’s population (including 70,646 Binh Thuan people who are living and studying outside the province).

There have been 993,177 citizens of Binh Thuan participating in health insurance, making up 94.9% of the plan set by Vietnam Social Security, an increase of 3.3% over the same period last year. In which, 87,070 people have affiliated in compulsory health insurance, accounting for 86.4% of the plan, a fall of 7.4% compared with that of the same period last year. In the meantime, the number of voluntary health insurance participants reached 6,561 people, meeting 54.4% of the year’s plan, an increase of 167% over the corresponding period of 2019.

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, business and production activities of local enterprises have faced difficulties. Many companies have submitted files to authorities at all levels to seek postponement of the collection of premiums of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance for their employees. Functional agencies have promptly issued guidelines in order to support enterprises to deal with their problems as stipulated.
