Binh Thuan’s people enjoyed a healthy, safe and economic Lunar New Year 2020

BTO – On January 30th morning (the 6th day of Lunar New Year), Chairman of the provincial People’s committee Nguyen Ngoc Hai chaired a conference to resume the celebration activities of the recent Lunar New Year 2020 – the Year of the Rat.

Attending the conference, there were Secretary of the provincial Party committee Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretaries Huynh Thanh Canh and Duong Van An, Vice chairmen of the provincial People’s council and People’s committee.

On this Tet holiday, it saw a variety of goods and commodities on the markets, serving a wide range of customers’ demands. The Supply of green vegetables and fresh food, electricity and water were basically stable in many localities. Remarkably, the province has paid much attention to the management and control over the epidemic diseases, food poisoning and coronavirus.

Besides, the province held fireworks display at 8 sites across the province to entertain locals and visitors on the Lunar New Year’s Eve.

The local authorities also paid special care to policy-favored families and poor households, ethnic minority groups so as to offer them a peaceful Tet holiday with a disbursement of over VND 39 billion.

During 4 days of Tet holiday (from January 24th to 27th), an estimated volume of 59,000 visitors, including 20,000 international tourists visited Binh Thuan destination. There were 6 cases of criminal violations during the Tet days, 2 road accidents in Ham Thuan Bac and Ham Tan, killing 2 people.

At the meeting, the provincial Party leader recorded great efforts of the governments and bodies at localities for the sake of the Lunar New Year’s holiday. However, the situation of illegal firecrackers has increased due to poor management, so these issues must be strictly controlled. On the other hand, false information showed that 6 Binh Thuan people infected with coronavirus had appeared on social media, worrying locals and visitors at that time.

Chairman Hai urged the local authorities, departments and agencies strictly abide by the Law of Labor, deploy new tasks for the new year; quickly implement site clearance for the major constructions; review all procedures for the coming recruitment day. At the same time, it must ramp up all efforts for the prevention of 2019-nCoV epidemic outbreak in the locality.
