The two-day event (from October 12-13) had the attendance of the central and provincial party leaders and representatives of leaders of local bodies as well as 260 delegates.
At the opening ceremony, the presidium reported the BTHCYU’s achievements and the Teenager movement over the 2012-2017 period, setting up new orientation and assignments for the new tenure of 2017-2022. Over the past 5 years (2012-2017), the provincial HCYU has performed numerous charities and social works in the localities across the province. It can be seen that 19 constructions worth VND 2.1 billion have been built by the province’s HCYU while the district levels confirmed another 402 constructions totaling VND 14.4 billion. The HCYU at foundation levels also fulfilled 6,708 constructions and works, worth VND 32.3 billion over the past tenure.
As many as 85,605 volunteers partook in voluntary works such as health checkups, gift-giving, blood donation, etc. Hitherto, a total of 18,900 poor households have been entitled with preferential treatment, 73,747 poor patients got free-of-charge examination and a total volume of 20,026 blood units have been collected from the youth. The local youth have also well done in many other areas such as job orientation and placement, funds mobilization for studying scholarships and so forth.
Secretary of the provincial Party committee Nguyen Manh Hung glorified the province’s Youth Union for their excellent achievements and efforts, hoping that the youth cadres would keep on education in ideology, politics, moralities, patriotism, and solidarity. Mr. Hung expects the Congress would elect a prominent Steering Committee which has firm political spirit and skill to guide the movements among children, teenagers and youngers more and more developed.
