State President Tran Dai Quang |
The two-way trade volume between Viet Nam and Belarus reached US$94.5 million in 2016 and US$37.7 million in the first quarter of 2017. Viet Nam chiefly exports seafood, garment-textile, woodwork, footwear, rice, natural rubber, peanut, cashew, tea, medicine, and computers, while importing fertilizer, machines, automobile spare parts, tractors, vans and chemicals.
Viet Nam and Belarus are working closely within the framework of the free trade agreement between Viet Nam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Belarus supported Viet Nam to train high-quality staffs and experts. So far, around 70 Vietnamese students are studying Belarus. Labor partnership is considered a prospect for the two nations’ cooperation. The two sides look forward to strengthening collaboration in other fields such as security-defense, health care, education, science-technology, culture, information, sports and tourism.
Following the Belarus visit, President Quang will pay an official visit to Russia from June 28 to July 1 at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin
