Firstly, enhancing propagation, organizing tourism promotion activities, as follows: producing columns/TV shows for tourism promotion programme 2014 and publising on Binh Thuan Radio & Television, Binh Thuan Newspaper and other travel websites. To perform tourism promotion program 2014 well, Binh Thuan tourism actively participated in International Tourism Expo (HCM city) and tourism fairs held in other provinces/cities; welcomed international travel companies for familiarization trips to explore local tourist destinations and seek business chance in Binh Thuan. Moreover, local tourism industry also organized and took part in roadshows to promote Vietnamese tourism abroad, various activities belonging to the National Tourism Year Program in the central highland province of Lam Dong.
Secondly, stimulating the demand for domestic tours during national holidays or culture-tourism events; mobilizing tour operators, hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions ….to offer promotional programs in low seasons or give 10-40% discounts on entrance and amusement ticket prices. Binh Thuan tourism authorities should also create favourable conditions and give support to commercial enterprises so that they can combine with tourist destinations, travel companies and tour operators to offer promotional programs and expand consumption demand with the introdcution of local specialties, especially at key tourist routes such as: Phan Thiet city, La Gi town, Ham Thuan Nam and Tuy Phong districts.
Thrirdly, launching on-site promotion campaigns and activities to enhance the community’s awareness of protecting tourism environment such as: cleaning up outdoor tourist sites (Hon Rom, Binh Thanh, Bau Trang, Doi Duong-La Gi); mobilizing local residents and visitors not to leave rubbish at tourists sites; diminishing number of negative behaviours that affect tourists (disturbance, rip-offs…); continuing the plan of building public toilets for tourists; opening training courses to disseminate knowledge relating to tourism among the community such as: communication, cultural behaviour, civilized lifestyle at public places… Tourism authorities will regularly deploy inspections on the prices and quality of of tourism services and goods; streatly deal with all cases of not pricing goods and service prices as stipulation, not selling goods as displayed prices, not abiding by regulations on food hygiene and safety and environmental protection.
The last task is to develop tourism products and improve tourism services to better serve visitors. Specifically, more new tours and tourist routes, both linked to neighbouring provinces and associated with tourism events or cultural festivals, set to be designed to attract more domestic and foreign tourists. In order to lure MICE tourists, Binh Thuan tourism industry would also host a number of seminars and conferences. Along with that, resorts and hotels will cooperate with tour operators to introduce MICE tours. Tourism products basing on the sea such as outdoor and water sports (wind surfing, kite surfing, golf), spa, healthcare services, city tours… are being developed. Tourist accommodations and travel agencies need to take measures to provide the better services for travellers. In addition to enhancing the effect of supporting tourists with information, a tourist support office should be set up at the tourist attraction of Doi Duong-Thuong Chanh (Phan Thiet city).
