Homestay services made in “Co Tam”
“Co Tam” is a nick name of a local woman named Nguyen Thi Tuyet Anh in Ngu Phung commune. She owns a spacious house with four bedrooms, one bathroom,
a water tank and a water heater. In the last national long-term holiday, numerous travellers came to Phu Quy but there were a lack of tourist accommodation. Many groups of visitors asked her to board them and since then she has engaged in providing rooms with cheap price (only VND 50,000 per guest night) for homestay tourists. It’s interesting that guests can cook themselves or share meals and other daily activities with the hosts to explore indigenous lifestyle and cultural characters. Piscatorial visitors who want to experience night squid fishing may follow Co Tam’s husband to take an interesting fishing trip. A young man whose name is Tran Tu posted a comment on his facebook after a packpacking trip to Phu Quy that: “I was very satisfied with the accommodation during the trip. Co Tam’s house has separate rooms right beside the coast where I could hear the whisper of waves clapping the shore at night. Co Tam is a very hospitable woman, and especially service prices are very cheap and suitable for packpackers”.
