Traditional celebrations of the Mid-Autumn festival for children will be held at Hanoi Museum on the evenings of September 20 and 26 by Dinh Lang Viet (Vietnamese Communal House) group.

The festival is intended to introduce children with how the festival was celebrated in the past, as well as help to preserve national identity and boost team spirit and co-operation skills.

On the evening of September 20 (the 8th day of September according to the lunar calendar) a communal festival will be held including a creative activity in which children, under the guidance of artisans, will try their hand at creating their own traditional toys such as lanterns, star lanterns, cardboard masks and lion heads as well as making traditional cakes for the occasion.

Activities on September 26 (the 14th day of September according to the lunar calendar) will take place in the outdoor area of the museum, ranging from lion dances and star lantern processions to folk games and circus performances.
