Binh Thuan to propose putting 8 off-shore wind power projects into planning

BTO – The people’s committee of Binh Thuan province has proposed to the Ministry of Trade and Industry to take consideration into inserting some renewable energy production projects of Binh Thuan into the national power development master plan in the coming time (or Power Development Master Plan 8).

With respect to off-shore wind power plan, Binh Thuan PPC has suggested 11 win power projects to the master plan. Of these, 3 projects are located on the land with a total capacity of 142 MW and 8 projects in the open sea with a total capacity of 22,200 MW.

Among the off-shore wind power projects that are proposed to the master plan, there are Thang Long Wind, La Gan, Co Thach beach, Binh Thuan off-shore wind power, Ham Thuan Nam off-shore wind power, Vinh Phong off-shore wind power, Binh Thuan’s AMI AC off-shore wind-power, and Tuy Phong off-shore wind power.

Reportedly, almost all of the off-shore wind power projects have been registered for investment in Binh Thuan province with large-scale capacity from 900MW to 5,000 MW.
