Located about 7 km from northern Phan Thiet, Phu Long Rice Paper Craft Village is hundreds of years old and is considered one of the craft village specialties of Binh Thuan province. In 2003, Phu Long Rice Paper Craft Village was recognized by the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province as a traditional craft village. Since then, rice paper products have become increasingly popular with customers, therefore, the brand and consumption market has also expanded, bringing stable income to the people. Currently, Phu Long rice paper craft village has 43 households producing rice paper, creating jobs for about 150 local workers.

Pice paper making requires skill and dexterity; only a skilled professional can make large, round, and even pieces. To create fragrant sticky rice paper, the worker must combine many steps, including choosing good rice, soaking, and grinding. During the process of forming the rice paper, the fire burned from the rice husk must be kept at a stable temperature, if it is too low, the rice paper will be overcooked; if it is too high, the rice paper will be cracked. Besides, Phu Long’s fine rice vermicelli is also considered one of the specialty dishes. Along with many famous landscapes, Binh Thuan is a land rich in cultural and historical traditions with many unique traditional craft villages associated with the culture of Binh Thuan. The entire province currently has more than 10,000 rural establishments operating with more than 50,300 workers. So far, Binh Thuan has 3 active craft villages recognized by the Provincial People's Committee, including Phu Long rice paper craft village (Ham Thuan Bac district), Cho Lau rice paper craft village (Bac Binh district) and Binh Duc pottery craft village (Bac Binh district).

Currently, the demand for sightseeing among tourists is increasing, especially the tendency to experience the daily life of natives and enjoy local specialties. Therefore, creating craft village tours is a trend that helps the tourism industry diversify products; and develop sustainably.
