At the meeting, which also had the attendance of representative leaders of functional departments and agencies in Binh Thuan, the Ambassador of Denmark stressed that Binh Thuan has the potentiality for renewable energy development, especially offshore wind power. Many enterprises from Denmark are paying attention to deploying investment projects in this potential sector. Among them are La Gan's off-shore wind farm, a 3.5 GW offshore wind power project developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and other companies, and an offshore wind power plant in Tuy Phong (invested by another Danish firm Orsted). Mr. Christensen insisted that he would continue giving support to Danish investors and facilitate their renewable energy projects in Binh Thuan in the future. He strongly believed that those projects would contribute to the socio-economic development of Binh Thuan province, as well as ensuring energy security in Vietnam.
