With regard to the outpost island of Phu Quy, local authority has worked with department of Industry and Trade to prepare commodity stockpile and means of transport during Tet holiday and in bad weather.
Transportation of necessary goods used to face difficulties when seasonal wind blows up in Tet occasion, so the island is likely to be isolated in many days. For that reason, the provincial People’s Committee has set up plan to prepare enough essential commodities and boats to serve locals’ demand. On the other hand, most of households on Phu Quy island have also reserved a certain volume of essential food items (rice, sugar, cooking oil, instant noodles, salt…) to meet their demand within 10-15 days. Authorities of Phu Quy district have encouraged the islanders to stock consumption goods accounting for 40-50% of their total demand during Tet season.
The provincial People’s Committee asks relevant units and enterprises to ensure commodity supply for Tet with stable prices, good quality, food safety and hygiene.
