Lotte Mart Phan Thiet supports farmers to sell 5,000 kg unsold pumpkin

BTO – A great number of farmers in some localities of Binh Thuan province are facing dead loss of investment and labor cost due to unsalable pumpkins, causing thousands of tons of the fruit rotten.

To solve with the dilemma, stores of Lotte Mart chain opens stall selling pumpkin in support of the farmers with price at VND 2,200 per kg while the prime cost is at VND 2,000 per kg.

The program aims to back pumpkin-growers and rescue the unmarketable pumpkins. As planned, Lotte Mart Phan Thiet will import about 3,000 kg of pumpkin today (June 14th) to help farmers find out consumption output, according to Hong Tan Trang, director of Lotte Mart Phan Thiet.

Thanks to the support of media agencies and propaganda work, consumers joined the program and rescued 2,000 tons of pumpkin on the first day of opening program.
