International commercial flights resumed from September 15

Regular international commercial flights between Vietnam and several countries have been resumed from September 15, as approved by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

The PM agreed with the plan to reopen flights between Vietnam and Guangzhou, China; Vietnam – Tokyo, Japan; Vietnam – Seoul, Republic of Korea; and Vietnam – Taipei, Chinese Taiwan, from September 15.

Meanwhile, the air routes linking Vietnam with Phnom Penh in Cambodia and with Vientiane in Laos will be recommenced on September 22.

The number of flights will not exceed two per week for each route.

Vietnam has also regulated entry conditions into Vietnam on commercial flights including foreigners holding diplomatic and official passports and their relatives; foreign experts, investors, business leaders, high-tech workers and their relatives; international students, foreign relatives of Vietnamese citizens and Vietnamese people.

The aforementioned subjects will be considered for a shortened quarantine period of five days after being tested negative for COVID-19 virus twice, then they will be allowed to self-quarantine according to regulations.

They are also required to provide a certificate proving they are not infected with COVID-19 within the three days prior to departure.
