Participating in this event, Binh Thuan province puts every focus on promoting its local image along with numerous typical rural industrial products, One Commune One Product (OCOP) items, and other distinctive products that showcase the province’s advantages.
Remarkably, during the opening ceremony, the Local Industry Department awarded trophies and certificates to the typical rural industrial products of the Southern Region for 2024.
The ceremony honoring and awarding certificates for typical rural industrial products in the Southern Region for 2024 took place in Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang Province).
This year, a total of 889 provincial-level typical rural industrial products from across the country registered for regional evaluation, with 439 products recognized (a success rate of 49%). In the Southern Region, 382 products from 18 out of 20 provinces and cities registered for participation, with the authorities recognizing 189 products (43% of the total recognized nationwide).
The collective booth showcasing typical rural industrial products from the Southern Region in 2024 features 12 products and product sets from Binh Thuan.
Specifically, Binh Thuan province has 12 recognized products and product sets, including handmade crafts such as Thai Nguyen chopsticks and the “Bracelet Set.” The remaining products belong to the categories of processed agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, including the Phan Thiet - Mui Ne anchovy fish sauce set, the traditional Thuận Hưng fish sauce set, the red and white dried dragon fruit sets, the dragon fruit flower tea set, Bao Long dragon fruit juice, and Mai Huong 350N traditional fish sauce. Additionally, there are the Garlic Butter Squid set, Fried Fish with Garlic set, and Lemon Sauce Fish set; the Durian Balls, Dried Green Mango Balls, and Dried Yogurt set; the “Royal Chili Spice” set; and Dong Dan Turmeric.

In addition to the individual booths of each province and city, the Organizing Committee of the Exhibition has also designed a collective booth to showcase and introduce all typical rural industrial products from the Southern Region for 2024, which have been honored by the Local Industry Department. “Converging” at this event, the Center for Industry Promotion and Trade Promotion (under the Binh Thuan Department of Industry and Trade) has collaborated to create an eye-catching display booth that focuses on promoting a diverse range of typical rural industrial products, OCOP items, and distinctive products that highlight the local advantages to visitors and shoppers.
Businesses, production facilities, and cooperatives from Binh Thuan have directly introduced their products to visitors at the Exhibition.
Representatives from the Clean Dragon Fruit Cooperative in Hoa Le (Ham Thuan Bac District) and the Thuan Hung Fish Sauce Manufacturing Company (Phan Thiet City) expressed their excitement about having their typical rural industrial products recognized at the regional level for the first time. This recognition serves as a significant motivation and encouragement for businesses, production facilities, and cooperatives in Binh Thuan to continue researching and effectively utilizing the abundant local raw materials to enhance the economic value of their products. Furthermore, they aim to innovate and produce many new, unique, and high-quality products that carry the distinctive flavors of the southern coastal region of Central Vietnam, thereby meeting both domestic consumption needs and export demands in the near future.
