BTO – To respond to the situation of Covid-19, several tourist and service enterprises in Binh Thuan province have put on the table numerous comprehensive solutions on the sustainable development of tourism in the future.

To ensure safe and friendly environment for tourists

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the entire province has about 12,400 staying tourists, including 10,500 international ones. At that time, the locality is entering peak season of European tourists’ winter vacation, so the shrink in Chinese tourist volumes do not significantly affected to the general prospect of tourism.

At Ham Tien – Mui Ne tourist area, all activities are taking place as normal as international tourists had booked rooms in advanced. Mui Ne is a popular place for kite-surfing and wind-surfing lovers since it is still a safe and friendly destination in the eyes of foreign and domestic tourists.

Sabwe Roth, Germany tourist told that: “We have 2 weeks holiday in Mui Ne. We love the place as the atmosphere is very cool with full of sun, wind and fresh air. We don’t perceive any fears and concerns over the coronavirus. We understand the significance of hygiene protection in prevention of covid-19 infection and the community’s health”.

In the meantime, Jacques Henri (a tourist from France) shared his feeling when choosing Mui Ne for his 14th times winter vacation. He loves the climate, hotel’s service quality and the locals’ hospitality and friendliness.

To ensure the safe tourist environment, all accommodations always update information and timely deal with suspected cases of covid-19 infection. All tourists are politely instructed on preventive measures by using ready-to-use face masks, hand-washing liquid and body temperature measures.

Restructuring markets towards diversification

In Binh Thuan, foreign tourists account for over 10 percent the total tourist arrival volumes every year. Besides traditional markets of Russia, Germany, etc., Binh Thuan welcomes tourists from many countries all over the world such as: the USA, France, Sweden, Portland, and a part of Chinese tourists.

It is expected that the tourist volume will be decreased by 10-15 percent if the covid-19 outbreak prolongs until late February. In the light of dim prospect of international tourism markets, some suggests to boost stimulation on domestic tourists and not depend on any specific markets.

Mr. Le Ngoc Ha, General-Director of Hoang Ngoc Resort, shared his plan to build up “Early Summer” package program to lure domestic visitors from now and then.

In addition to develop and expand more potential markets, the local tourist accommodations also paid attention to improve their service quality, promote propaganda via media. Although damages and loss are inevitable at this time, the locality can regain its markets for sustainable development with good restructures and planning.

In 2020, the coastal province of Binh Thuan has set a target of welcoming 7million visitors, including 850,000 international tourists. VND 18,300 billion is the figure for the province’s target of tourism revenues in this year. To get those targets, the province’s Party and State are putting every efforts to overcome this difficult stage for the achieving the set goals.
