MITT is Russia’s largest and longest running travel exhibition. With over 1,800 exhibiting companies and 190 destinations plus, it is the key meeting place for the industry and an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and clients. It enables exhibitors to increase awareness of their destination, gain a real feel for the Russian travel market and gauge demand for their services.
During the three days of the MITT (from March 13-15), at the 80-meter-wide pavilion of Vietnam, it focuses on popularizing the brand name “Mui Ne – Wind of Love”, targeting at luring Russian tourists as well as potential tourists from other countries to the spot of Mui Ne – Vietnam. At the same time, a number of sea specialties, water sports and ecotourism are also introduced at the exhibition. Besides, the tourism sector of Binh Thuan also exchanged information and touched many cooperative opportunities with the Russian travel agencies, tour and service operators and the international Press at the Fair.
Visiting the Vietnam’s pavilion, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh shared that: “the MITT – Moscow 2018 is a prestigious and large-scale travel fair. It is considered as a very significant event as Vietnam can participate in this fair, contributing to promoting and attracting international tourists. Binh Thuan is the locality which welcomes the most number of Russian tourists thanks to its favorable weather conditions all-year-round and beautiful landscapes”.
Attending the Fair, Deputy Director of the Binh Thuan department of Culture, Sports and Tourism confirmed that Binh Thuan would do its best to promote the local images and invite tourists to the locality by supporting travel costs, giving free-of-charge tourism products so that the Media as well as potential tourists can enjoy the best journeys in Binh Thuan, Vietnam.
As one of the major travel market of Vietnam in general and Binh Thuan in particular, the number of Russian tourists always take the lead in comparison with those from other countries. In 2017, Vietnam welcomed more than 574 thousand of Russian tourists, a year-on-year increase of 32.3 percent. As of Feb 2018, the volume of Russian tourists to Vietnam hits over 141 thousand of visitors, a year-on-year rise of 19.5 percent. In the meantime, Binh Thuan received over 130,000 Russian tourists from 2012-2017. It is estimated that the province has welcomed nearly 40,000 Russian visitors in the first two months of 2018.
