In conversations with representatives of tour operators and farmers in Phu My hamlet, Mr. Ngo Minh Chinh-Director of Department of Culture-Sports & Tourism emphasized that community - based tourism will provide interesting experiences for and positively influence on local people’ life. He said that the successful implementation of this new model hinges on the participation of travel businesses, the support and consensus of the local comminities. After grasping assessments on potentialities and the orientation to carry out the model, almost all parties concerned expressed a desire to launch the community based tourism model as soon as possible. Reportedly, a workshop on developing community based tourism model is scheduled for January, 2015. Then a number of dragon fruit growers will have a fact-finding journey in Hoi An (Quang Nam province) and Khanh Hoa province to get experiences before launching officially the model in Phu My hamlet.
