The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bui The Nhan reported the expected activities in celebration of Lunar New Year 2022 to the participants. Due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the upcoming Tet welcoming activities will be transferred from tradition to media, theatrical, and live broadcasting.

The draft proposes to choose the topic of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of the province, namely "Binh Thuan: 30 years of integration and development". It also selects a number of groundbreaking works and inauguration works to celebrate the above event, prepares an overview report on achievements over 30 years of re-establishing the province; and then the departments and localities will register works to welcome the events. Information and propaganda activities have been enhanced and further promoted in the media and mass media at the local as well as at the central levels.

Regarding festival activities, the draft recommends organizing 14 cultural and culinary activities, arts, physical training, and sports activities in La Gi, Bac Binh, Phu Quy, and Phan Thiet city.

At the meeting, leaders of departments and agencies have raised a number of ideas and suggestions to develop a much more detailed and specific draft plan. At the same time, they also proposed to add or cut a number of activities in the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister. Remarkably, the majority of opinions agreed to stop organizing low-altitude fireworks on New Year's Eve, traditional boat racing festivals, cultural and art performances; Futsal soccer tournaments, beach soccer tournaments. Those activities often attract large gatherings, posing the potential for the spread of infectious diseases.

After listening to the participants’ opinions on the draft plan, Chairman Le Tuan Phong agreed with the plan of activities to welcome the Lunar New Year 2022 reported by the leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports.
