BTO –Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee lately ratified the project to upgrade Nguyen Thong  road which is on travel route to Mui Ne (Phan Thiet city). At the same time, the provincial People’s Council has promulgated a resolution to list the project as one of the province’s key construction works that will be given priorities to investment capital and implementation. The project construction will start at the end of the year 2016. With a total capital of VND 286 billion invested by Department of Transport, the 4 kilometers Nguyen Thong road connecting Hung Vuong bridge to the round about of Vo Nguyen Giap avenue (or 706B road) will be extended to 25 meters in width, meeting the standard of main roads in urban areas.

Nguyen Thong road is an important route which links the section of Thu Khoa Huan street and Hung Vuong avenue leading to Mui Ne resort area. It’s also the main route connecting the central Phan Thiet city to Phan Thiet airport.

On the existing Nguyen Thong road, which is only 6 meter-wide, there is a high volume of traffic vehicles, especially passenger cars going to Mui Ne everyday, leading to traffic congestion and potential accidents. The upgraded Nguyen Thong road is expected to begin at Hung Vuong bridge, along Cau Ke river to the section road at Phan Thiet Fish Sauce Corporation, then connect to its current road leading to Vo Nguyen Giap traffic-circle.
