Of which, 99 projects are under operation (combined capital of VND 11.524 trillion), 51 projects are under construction (total capital of VND 19.021 trillion), and 114 projects (capital of VND 22. 487 trillion) are in the process of implementing investment procedures. Projects that won the provincial People’s Committee’s investment certificates have been invested in the fields of industry, tourism-tourism services, residential areas, urban areas, agriculture.
It can be said that after the 2017 conference, the province’s socioeconomic situation has flourished , creating new conditions for faster and more sustainable growth, boosting comprehensive development, improving people’s living standards, preserving political security and social order.
At the upcoming investment promotion conference, which is scheduled for September 22, Binh Thuan will focus on calling investment in the three major pillars: tourism sector (including tourism services and luxurious entertainment, trade centers, urban areas, residential areas); industry (processing, manufacturing, renewable energies), and hi-tech agriculture development with adaptation to climate change. The provincial authorities have set up these targets with the purpose of effectively exploiting local advantages and potential, removing “knots” to accelerate economic growth and come up with the whole country’s growth.
According to Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Hai, to attract a large number of investment projects in the future, Binh Thuan will strive to invest in developing traffic infrastructures, especially the project of North-South express way and logistic services in Vinh Tan international port to boost the linkage between Binh Thuan with the central highlands and south central region to creat East-West Economic Corridor. With a water area of 7,600 km2, the province’s authorities also pay attention to the development of off-shore wind power projects. In addition, the locality has potentials to develop industrial- urban areas and agricultural area with hi-tech applications.
