Binh Thuan’s dragon-fruit farmers enjoy bumper crops, highest prices

BTO – Farmers in the South Coastal province of Binh Thuan have entered the peak fruit harvesting season, with bumper harvests and high selling prices at a record.

With the normal prices of dragon fruit ranging from VND 8,000 to 14,000 per kilogram, the farmers can enjoy a little interest. But in those days, the prices of dragon fruit in Binh Thuan province have climbed up to VND 28,000 to VND 30,000 per kilogram, cheering up the local farmers after a long time of full of hardship.

As of now, Binh Thuan has a total dragon-fruit growing area of 30,000 hectares, with an estimated output of 500,000 ton per crop. Such output shall be capable of supplying for many export markets, including the major market of China.
