Perspective of Phan Thiet airport

Accordingly, the route linking Phan Thiet airport is designed with the length of nearly 3.7 km, a speed of 80 km/h, a width of the road of 13.5 meters. The would-be road will be connected with DT706B road (or Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue), and goes by Thien Nghiep commune, Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province and leads to Phan Thiet airport. The total investment is estimated at VND 116 billion, which goes from the provincial budget and the department of Transport of Binh Thuan plays a role as investor.

According to the investor, the route is divided into 2 phrases. The first phrase (2017-2018) includes constructions of 30-cm-thick embankment, drainage and retaining walls while the second phrase (2018-2020) covers the constructions of asphalt concrete surface, and systems of green, lighting and traffic safety.

Earlier in January 2015, the Ministry of National Defense and the People’s committee of Binh Thuan held a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of Phan Thiet airport, which is planned for both military and civil purposes, on a total area of 543 ha. The would be airport is able to accommodate 500,000 passengers a year.
