BTO –Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Hai carried out a field trip to Phan Thiet airport project in Thien Nghiep commune, Phan Thiet city on March 19th morning.
The construction of Phan Thiet airport was kicked off a year ago. This is one of the province’s key projects with the role to motivate the development for Binh Thuan. The project has a total investment of VND 1,548,629 million. In which, investment capital for construction and loan interest account for VND 1,495,807 million, mobilized by the investors. The rest VND 52,822 million, funded by the provincial People’s Committee, is used for costs of compensation and land clearance.
Until now, the People’s Committee of Phan Thiet city has approved of compensation plans, supporting 39 out of 57 households and organizations with the total cost of VND 49,515 million. So far, the qualified areas to hand over the investors are 364 hectares out of 543 hectares (gaining 67 percent of recovery areas). Also, the provincial People’s Committee has given the go-ahead to disburse over VND 116 billion from the province’s budget on the access to the airport.
Through the field trip, Hai stated that the project is in slow progress and required the Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Transport, the investors in co-ordination with the People’s Committees of Phan Thiet city and Thien Nghiep commune to handle with all obstacles regarding the legality of land-owners affected by the project; then fix a price, review and ratify measures to compensate and support for the rest households so that the investors can receive the space as soon as possible.
