Binh Thuan has over 10,000 hectares of VietGAP dragon fruit

BTO-The implementation of dragon fruit production program under the VietGAP standards has been carried out in many localities with satisfactory outcome and fulfilled the year’s targets.

In November, Dragon Fruit Development Research Centre granted VietGAP certificates to 14 dragon fruit growing groups/farms with a total cultivation area of 269.27 hectares. As of November, 2018, the total VietGAP dragon fruit area in Binh Thuan has reached 10,072.89 hectares, overfulfilling 2.7% over the plan. Ham Thuan Nam district has the largest VietGAP dragon fruit area (5,917.77 hectares), followed by Ham Thuan Bac district (3,511.33 hectares) and Bac Binh district (337.04 hectares).
