Of these, Thang Long Wind project, which is 20Km to 50km far from Ke Ga cape, with a capacity of 3,400W and total investment of USD 11.9 billion, has been approved by the Prime Minister. This is the only project received permission for investigation form the Prime Minister in January 2019. Since then, the Enterprize Energy Group had conducted fact-finding survey in the off-shore area of Binh Thuan under the province’s support.
Currently, the province has 8 wind power projects in the progress of promoting investment procedures with a total capacity of 348 MW on the surveyed area of 5,175 hectares. Almost all of the investors have completed their infrastructure design and ready for the following procedures. Of the total, 4 projects are being struck in titanium reserve planning, while 2 others are applying for forest land conversion of Hoa Thang 1.2 and Hoa Thang 2.2.
Up to now, the province has 20 offshore wind power projects, with a total capacity of 812.5MW supplementary approved by the PM. In the meantime, Binh Thuan has so far granted intention investments to 14 projects with a total capacity of 598MW. The province has many incentives to lure potentials investors of renewable energy projects to the locality.
