100 scholarships granted to disadvantaged students

BTO – As many as 100 students of the two provinces of Binh Thuan and Dong Nai have been awarded scholarships “For Vietnam’s Future”. The event was co-held by the province’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) and Newspapers of Khan Quang Do (Red scarf) and Muc Tim (Purple Ink) in Ham Thuan Bac high school.

Attending the ceremony, there were Mr. Lam Hong Tuyen – Acting Secretary of the provincial HCYU; Mr. Nguyen Khac Cuong, Editor-in-chef of Muc Tim Magazine; and over 800 high school students and teaching staffs of Binh Thuan province.

The organizing board has presented 100 scholarships, worth VND million each, to 60 students of Binh Thuan province and 40 students of Dong Nai province. The program, estimated at VND 200 million, aims to encourage disadvantaged students to keep their studying paths.

The program is projected to grant more 500 scholarships to students in Ho Chi Minh City and Long An province.
