Youth joined candle lighting ceremony in commemoration of heroic martyrs

BTO- The standing committee of the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union branch solemnly held a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the provincial martyrs’ cemetery on the night of July 26 on the 72nd anniversary of Vietnamese War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27).

Attending the ceremony, there were Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung-Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Mr. Le Tuan Phong- deputy chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, leaders of departments/branch/agency, war veterans, Vietnamese heroic mothers, as well as hundreds of youth union members and students.

Under the motto “Lighting the fire of tradition, the shining faith”, participants offered flower bouquets and incenses to those who devoted their lives for national defense. At the same time, thousands of candles were lit up on more than 9,000 graves of martyrs to commemorate the deceased.  Mrs. Le Thi Bich Lien-Secretary of the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, on behalf of the young generations of Binh Thuan province, expressed her deep gratitude to fallen heroes, saying that the local youth would continue the tradition of national construction and development. She also called the authorities at all levels and youth organizations to enhance the patriotism among the youth, encourage them to join activities to pay tribute to revolutionary contributors.   

On that occasion, the province’s leaders presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers and families of revolutionary contributors.
