VTOS standards on hotel management training workshop opened in Binh Thuan

BTO- In the morning of December 9th, 2014, Binh Thuan provincial Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism in partnership with the European Union project’s management board opened a training workshop on hotel management according to the Vietnam Tourism Occupational Skills standards (VTOS) in the locality.

VTOS standards were built by Vietnamese and international experts under the implementation of the EU-funded Human Resources Development in Tourism Project (HRDT Project).VTOS has received its final approval by Vietnam Tourism Certification Board(VTCB). The standards have been developed for six key tourism areas: front office operations, housekeeping operations, food and beverage service, food preparation, hotel management, and small accomodation operations. At the event, learners were provided with specific skills to practise VTOS standards on hotel management that the managers must pay attention to, such as: managing  front-of-house activities (reception, concierge, reservation), managing housekeeping and restaurant departments; building managing budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure; promoting and marketing the business; recruiting, training and monitoring staff;planning work schedules for individuals and teams. The workshop will last until December 14th, 2014.
