The budget airline Vietjet was the top working place in the tourism and hospitality industry in 2014, according to an annual survey “Best Places to Work in Vietnam”, conducted by Anphabe, a career networking platform, and Nielsen, a leading market research firm.

Also in the Top 10 in the same category were KFC Vietnam, InterContinental Asiana, New World Saigon Hotel, Lotteria, Pizza Hut, Vietravel, Kumho Asiana Plaza and McDonald’s Vietnam.

The survey was conducted from October, 2014 to January, 2015 with the participation of over 15,000 respondents across 24 career fields throughout the nation.

The survey was based on 46 criteria in six main groups: salary, bonuses and beneficiaries; development opportunities; leadership; culture and values; job quality and life; and the company’s reputation.

In 2014 Vietjet received nearly 10,000 job applications.

Over the past three years of operation, Vietjet has achieved a number of impressive targets. The airline has expanded its fleet and now boasts 21 A320 aircraft. Currently operating 150 flights per day, VietJet also recently flew with its 10 millionth passenger.

With 28 domestic and international routes, the airline flies to every major tourist destination and economic center in Vietnam and now flies from Vietnam to a number of destinations in Asia including Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul and Busan in the Republic of Korea, Taipei, and Siem Reap in Cambodia.

The airline will continue to add more international routes and expand its fleet through 2015. To facilitate this major growth, Vietjet now employs 1,500 staff members. This number will surge to 2,000 by the end of this year.

“The key factor to this great success of Vietjet is our personnel,” said Mr. Tran Huu Quoc, director of Vietjet Training Center.

“We always consider Vietjet to be one big family and we try to create a truly original and dynamic working environment so people can excel. Besides the modern offices, excellent conditions, and dynamic training that we offer for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge, we also organize recreational and social activities through sport clubs to keep fit and relax together,” Quoc said.

Vietjet is the first privately owned airline in Vietnam. With a fleet of 21 Airbus A320 aircraft, Vietjet operates 150 flights per day, and has transported ten million passengers in total so far. The airline covers 28 local and international routes across the country and the region to Singapore, Thailand, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, and Cambodia.
