BTO-Tanh Linh district’s authorities are focusing on encouraging and calling investment in tourism development basing on a strategy to promote tourism towards diversification in form, suiting all travelers.

Potentialities

Tanh Linh district has an eligible traffic infrastructure network meeting the demands for socioeconomic development. This locality also possesses a lot of natural landscapes with abundance of potentialities for tourism development, especially eco-tourism such as: Thac Ba waterfalls, Bien Lac reservoir, Mua Bay waterfalls, Truot waterfalls, hydro power reservoir… Besides, there are many historical monuments during the resistance wars: the monument marks the victory of Hoai Duc-Bac Ruong (which has been recognized as revolutionary-historical relic at national level by Ministry of Culture and Information (Ministry of Culture-Sports and Tourism at present), and Nam Son revolutionary base (La Ngau commune).  In addition to advantages favoured by the nature, tourism sector of Tanh Linh district still faces many difficulties and shortcomings as follows:

- The planning and construction of eco-tourism areas have been deployed too slowly;

- The environment for tourism investment and development still encounters a lot of obstacles, especially unsynchronized infrastructure system;

- The locality has not had a typical tourism product yet;

- Regional cultural values have not been exploited and maintained properly;

- The locality is struggling with lack of investment capital and being inexperienced in tourism development, resulting in limitations in investment attraction.

Attempt on multiform tourism development

During the recent years, Tanh Linh authorities have deployed the action program on tourism development until 2015, with specific details:

- Setting up the master plan for tourism development period 2011-2015;

- Adjusting and adding some eco-tourism destinations such as: Mua Bay waterfalls,

Dau Trau waterfalls, Truot waterfalls (Duc Phu commune), Da Mi reservoir (La Ngau commune), Bien Lac reservoir (Gia An commune) to the master plan.  Particularly, Thac Ba waterfalls eco-tourism area, which has total area of 250 hectares with high-quality and diversified tourism products, has been approved by the Provincial People’s Committee and under investment appeal.

According to Mr. Huynh Thai Duong, vice secretary of Tanh Linh district’s Party Committee, the general planning of tourist destination clusters of Tanh Linh district has been completely finished, with detailed areas, routes and products; the master plan for eco-tourism development in Tanh Linh district has also fully made, creating favourable environment for investors. At the same time, the district’s authorities have suggested to take the destination of Long mountain (Dong Kho commune) into the province’s tourism development plan, period 2011-2015 and orientation towards 2020. Presently, Tanh Linh district authorities are concentrating on finishing the plan for setting up and developing recreation areas connecting with tourist attractions such as Bien Lac reservoir, Ta Pao Dam’s reservoir….

For period 2014-2015 and orientation to 2020, the district’s tourism development plan is focusing on accomplising the general planning for eco-tourism development with a series of green-cultural-historical destinations, as follows: waterfalls cluster in Duc Phu commune, Ta Pao Dam’s reservoir in Dong Kho commune, Hoai Duc-Bac Ruong monument, which are expected to be taken into Binh Thuan’s Project for tourism development period 2015-2020.
