BTO – On July 13rd morning, Tan Thang border guard (under Binh Thuan provincial Border Guards) in cooperation with the Police of Thang Hai commune, Ham Tan districts and the National Shooting Range region No.3 and the Police of Xuyen Moc district (Ba Ria-Vung Tau province) checked and detected over 500 kilograms of marijuana plants grown in Hai Den mountain. The combined forces have destroyed the whole volume of marijuana plants at the site.

Border guards are collecting and destroying illegal plants

The detected area is 700 square meters in width, which is used for growing more than 3,000 marijuana plants, weighing over 500 kg. At the time of being detected, the illegal plants’ heights are from 40 to 60 centimeters. There were a campsite and a water supply system for custody and care of the trees. The functional authorities have collected and destroyed all the trees and facilities on the site. Nobody found at the place.

The mountain range of Hai Den borders communes of Son My, Tan Thang, Thang Hai (Ham Tan – Binh Thuan) and the Xuyen Moc district (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province). The area’s geography is difficult to access so the offenders often grow the marijuana sneakily there. The border guards and functional authorities have observed frequent inspection tours and found violation cases for many times.
