Province’s leaders extended greetings to Cham Community on Kate festival

BTO – Two delegations led by the provincial leaders paid visit to the Cham community in Bac Binh and Tuy Phong district on October 10th on the occasion of their Traditional Kate festival.

The former led by Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Duong Van An arrived in the two communes of Phan Hiep and Phan Thanh - Bac Binh District. The Later was led by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Tuan Phong to congratulate the Cham Balamon people in Tuy Phong district on Kate festival.

The Kate festival is known as the biggest yearly festival of the Cham Brahman community in Binh Thuan province. On the occasion, the delegations visited Phu Lac commune’s Party Committes, People’s Council, People’s Committee and other locations.

Along with monks, dignitaries and prestigious people of the Cham Brahman Community, provincial leaders also wished the community a prosperous and fancy festival, continuing to preserve and develop the traditional culture of the group.

The province’s leaders lauded the Cham people’s effort in building the national great unit bloc, expressing the community to follow the Party and State’s policies and law, support each other in poverty and reinforce solidarity.

For the Cham people part, dignitaries and followers thanked the local leaders for caring and creating favorable conditions for them to celebrate the festival.
