140 green trees planted in response to World Environment Day

BTO – In response to World Environment Day 2020 and “For a Green Vietnam” program, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) of Binh Thuan provincial Department of Security in coordination with the HCYU of Ham Can commune, Ham Thuan Nam district have launched a “Green Sunday” program. The program has attracted the participation of 140 youth union members at the launching day.

At the launching ceremony, the Youth union members have actively grown some 140 green, completed “flowers-drawing on electricity posts”, and installed 5 water tanks for crowded residential areas.

Additionally, the volunteers have granted 50 gifts (including instant noodle, MSG, cooking oil, etc.) to poor and policy-favored families. 20 scholarships, worth VND 500,000 were offered to studious but poor students in the locality.

Addressing the ceremony, representative of the Police highlighted the 2020 World environment Day’s theme “For a Green Planet” and biodiversity. He expects the event can help raise people’s awareness of using water and power economically; give priority to the use of eco-friendly products, reduce single-use plastic bags and not litter garbage to the environment, and so forth.
