Miss Charm 2020, a global-scale beauty pageant which is originally scheduled to be held in Vietnam for the first time from March 5-18 in Ho Chi Minh City, will be postponed due to the serious and complex circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) proliferation.

In an official announcement on February 27, the event’s organising board said that despite their well preparation and excitement to welcome glorious contestants from all over the world, they have to prioritise the health and safety of the contestants, performers, patrons and staff.

The decision has been made in terms of the worldwide efforts in taking preventative measures to curb and contain the escalating coronavirus epidemic, the announcement said.

The new date for the contest will be announced later.

Licensed by the Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and exclusively hosted by the Miss Charm International Limited Company, Miss Charm 2020 aims to appreciate women’s beauty as well as accelerate culture, education and tourism.
