The temple of Ma Thai Giam located in Phu My village is a folk architectural heritage of the Vietnamese people. The building was built by a group of residents from the Central region of Vietnam when they first settled down in this island in the 18th century.
The temple is place to worship Bach ma Thai Giam (white Horse Eunuch) and predecessors who had contributions to theconstructions of the village and the temple. It is also place for the locals to pay tribute and pray for favorale weather and peace. The temple is now keeping a number of heritages, spcimens and precious and valuable Han-Nom documents including 5 royal decrees granted by the Nguyen dynasty.
At the awarding ceremony, Vo Thanh Huy, deputy directot of the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism urged the People's Committee of Phu Quy district and Ngu Phung commune to uphold and promote the values of the temple, as well as pay attention to educating its tradition to young generations as well as tourists and visitors to the place.
