Binh Thuan dragon fruit to be served on board Vietnam Airlines flights from April 1st

BTO – The National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will serve Binh Thuan Dragon fruit, a speciality fruit of the Central Coast of Binh Thuan province, as a dessert in business class from April 1st to April 15th, 2019, said a representative of Vietnam Airline on On April 1st afternoon. Alongside with Binh Thuan dragon fruit, Tay Ninh melon will be also served on board at the same time.

Particularly, specialty of Binh Thuan dragon fruit is served for passengers on the Flights from departure of Ha Noi to Arrival of Ho Chi Minh city while Tay Ninh melon is served on the contrary route from HCM to Hanoi.

To ensure the fresh flavor of those fruits on every in-flight meal, Vietnam Airlines will apply a stringent regulations of selection, verification and monitor from growing, harvesting to storing procedures. The fruits will be selected after a strict monitoring and quarantine process under the Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practice (VietGAP).

In-flight meals leave one of the first cultural impressions on foreign visitors, according to the carrier’s representative. Passengers flying with Vietnam Airlines can now enjoy Vietnam’s most famous specialties as a greeting from the country, he noted.
Serving local farm produce is how Vietnam Airlines promotes the national identity among domestic flyers and international friends, Ha added.

Earlier, the carrier also introduced a number of fruit specialties of Vietnam to their passengers, including Cao Phong orange is the third specialty fruit served on its flights, after Luc Ngan litchi and Hung Yen longan, Luc Ngan litchi, green-skinned grapefruit, Hoa Loc sweet mango (Tien Giang).
