Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid a visit to the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts on October 28.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc appreciates a lacquer painting by Nguyen Gia Tri.

The museum conserves nearly 20,000 pieces of artwork and objects of various materials and forms which hold historical and artistic value, including nine national treasures.

It currently displays about 2,000 items, which are outstanding examples of Vietnam’s fine arts from the prehistoric period to the imperial period and onto the present day.

Speaking with the museum staff, PM Phuc praised their preservation of the artworks, many of which hold great value, and urged the museum to make greater efforts in attracting more visitors and make Vietnamese fine arts known to the public, both at home and abroad.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc viewed an exhibition featuring oil paintings by well-known domestic and foreign artists organised by the Fine Arts Museum.
