Dear compatriots, comrades and soldiers nationwide!
On the occasion of the 2018 Lunar New Year, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, I would like to extend my strong affection and best greetings to all compatriots, comrades, soldiers and overseas Vietnamese.
On behalf of the State and people of Vietnam, I sincerely wish the people of foreign countries and international friends around the world a new year of peace, friendship, happiness and prosperity.

In the past year, the entire Party, people and armed forces united to overcome many difficulties and challenges, gaining comprehensive and significant achievements, especially in socio-economic development, national defence, security, foreign relations and Party building.
Vietnam’s position and reputation continue to be strengthened and the country is expected to keep moving forward on the path of sustainable development with the backing of both the people at home and the international community.
The arrival of spring and a new year brings along auspicious episodes. With new resolution, new morale, new vigour and a firm belief in the Party and State’s leadership and the nation’s bright future, each Vietnamese person shall uphold the traditions of patriotism, self-reliance and solidarity to together continue pursuing reform and innovation so as to win even greater triumphs in the cause of nation-building and defence; making contributions to peace, stability, national independence, democracy and progressiveness in the world.
In a new year, with new opportunities and new drivers, we certainly will succeed.
