The document was promulgated following the Conclusion No. 363-KL/TU dated May 19, 2017 of the provincial Party Committee’s standing committee and Decision No.1575/QD-UBND dated June 12, 2017 of the provincial People’s Committee on approving the project “Holding annual festival to mark the Hung Kings death anniversary at Hung Vung Temple in Phan Ri Cu townlet-Tuy Phong district.
Accordingly, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee totally agreed with a document on researching and restoring the festivals in commemoration of the Hung Kings death anniversary, along with a list of detailed programmes of the this annual festival that will be observed at Hung Vuong Temple in Tuy phong district.The provincial authority asks Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism in collaboration with Tuy Phong district People’s Committee to take responsibility for the implementation of the project basing on opinions and comments contributed by other agencies, organizations, individuals, ensuring historical origins and scientific basics. Those units are urged to promptly prepare for this year’s Hung Kings festival inaccordance with the project’s content.
The Hung Vuong Temple had been constructed by local residents in the beginning of the 19th century with the purpose of worshiping their ancestors and those with contribution to the exploitation and establisment of villages in the ancient Phan Ri area. Rituals to commemorate the death anniversary of the Hung Kings have been held as the main ceremonial event at the site since 1958.
In 2010, the temple was recognized as the provincial architectural-artistic relic by the provincial People’s Committee.
