The seething event was attended by Deputy secretary of the provincial Party committee Duong Van An, Vice chairman of Binh Thuan provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Hoa, representatives of departments/agencies/bodies together with the overcrowded locals and sightseers.
At the event, the province’s and city’s leaders offered meaningful presents to representatives of lantern-parade participants to encourage students and children to study harder. After the opening ceremony, the coastal city of Phan Thiet suddenly was brightened by thousands of lanterns in very funny shapes and designs. 33 large and colorful lanterns and over 3,000 small ones highlighted the traditional culture of Phan Thiet – Binh Thuan in every lunar August. The parade was really extraordinary and awful enough to catch the attention of teeming public, causing the roads to Phan Thiet city be heavily congested with vehicles and people.
The very expected fest was also broadcast live on the Binh Thuan Television and Station for the busy audience. The lantern parade crossed by majored streets of Phan Thiet, starting from Nguyen Tat Thanh to Ton Duc Thang, Thu Khoa Huan, Tran Hung Dao and the final point at Nguyen Du street. Each section, where the procession passed by, was all of a sudden blazing and seething. Despite the rain, both sides of the roads were still jam-packed with onlookers and tourists.
