Sporting events in celebration of Binh Thuan Liberation Day

The competition, co-organized by Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism and Bac Binh district, attracted 200 athletes (including female ones), participating in swimming, running, sliding down the sand dunes and bag jumping contests.

After nearly two hours of competition, male athlete Nguyen Van Cot (Phan Thiet city) won the first prize at the triathlon content (including swimming through White Lake, running and sliding down the sand dunes); the second and third prizes went to Tang Xuan Quy and Nguyen Hai Duong (from Hoa Thang commune- Bac Binh district).

 For female category, Nguyen Thi My Duyen and Truong Thi Quynh Như (from Ham Thuan Nam district) successively earned the first and second prizes while Luu Thi Diep (from Song Binh commune-Bac Binh district) won the third place. Generally, the best team overall belonged to Hoa Thang commune, followed by Ham Thuan Nam district and Phan Thiet city. At the content of relay bag jumping on sand (male and female), Hong Phong commune-Bac Binh district won the first prize after three competition rounds, the second and third ones went to Bac Binh traditional martial art association and Bac Binh Education and Vocational Training Center.

This sporting tournament is held annually with the aim to maintain and uphold traditional sports of the locality, and contributing to promoting While Lake ecotourism area.
