The tournament, which was organized by Vietnam Chess Association, attracted the participation of 1,300 young chess players from 48 provinces/cities/sectors nationwide. Binh Thuan’s team, which included 30 male and female athletes under the training of Coach Nguyen Van Tho, successfully performed their tasks, with 1 gold medal of Tran Cong Phuc (group of single-male under 17 years old), 2 bronze medals by Tran Cong Phuc and Dao Hoang Phuc (group of male-double under 17 years old) and Nguyen Tra Truc Nguyen, Dang Ngo Gia Han (Group of female-double under 13 years old).
