This “Binh Thuan - Ninh Thuan expanded off-road car and motorcycle racing, the White Sand - HTV Challenge Cup 2023” is also jointly organized by the provinces of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan, as part of their tourism development cooperation program. Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said that this is an extreme sport for enthusiasts of off-road racing in Vietnam and countries in the region.
Through the race, outstanding individuals and teams will be selected to participate in professional races both regionally and internationally, thus developing Vietnam’s sports car racing market on a larger scale than ever before.
Bau Trang is chosen as the venue for this event because there is no other place that meets the weather and terrain conditions to challenge racers from different provinces and cities across the country. This will introduce both domestic and international visitors to the beautiful landscapes of Binh Thuan. The Binh Thuan - Ninh Thuan expanded off-road car and motorcycle racing, the Bau Trang - HTV Challenge Cup 2023, also aims to showcase the driving skills and psychological aspects of ensuring traffic safety to the public and spectators. It connects car and motorcycle users to participate in social activities, rescue missions, and charity work in remote and difficult-to-reach areas, as well as in challenging traffic regions.
During the official press conference in Ho Chi Minh City, the organizing committee also shared specific information about the expanded Binh Thuan - Ninh Thuan off-road car and motorcycle racing, the Bau Trang - HTV Challenge Cup 2023, which challenges driving skills in difficult and treacherous terrain. This includes racing on natural off-road tracks, tracks within the U & Me Bau Trang Tourist Area, and surrounding areas in Bac Binh district.
In addition to the sports competition, the organizers also promotes and showcases the cultural, tangible and intangible values, resources, and unique tourism products of Vietnam in general, and the Binh Thuan - Ninh Thuan region in particular, in order to attract domestic and international tourists to Vietnam and Binh Thuan province. This aims to achieve breakthrough development in tourism, contribute to the conservation of marine environmental resources, and promote local socio-economic development. Bau Trang has previously hosted such events. This season will bring together various categories of cutting-edge vehicles, including off-road motorcycles (dirt bikes) and 2-wheel drive, 4x4, or AWD cars. It promises to be dramatic and exciting at the U & Me Bau Trang Tourist Area and its surrounding areas.
Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam added, “At this point, there are already over 100 racing teams registered for both categories. In Binh Thuan, a series of apartments, hotels, and luxury resorts, such as Movenpick, Centara, Apec Mandala Wyndham, The Anam Mui Ne resort, have increased their capacity by over 4,000 rooms with a minimum 3-star quality or equivalent.
This will fully meet the accommodation needs of racers, their families, and relatives, ensuring a safe and wonderful holiday experience. This sports event also serves as a large-scale collaboration in tourism development with other localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tuyen Quang, Binh Phuoc, and Ninh Thuan, and has achieved certain results in tourism development cooperation.”
