President conveys his best wishes for education sector in new school year

President Tran Dai Quang conveyed his best wishes to teachers, students and those working in the education sector in a letter sent to the sector on September 1, marking the beginning of the new school year 2017-2018.

He praised the efforts made by the education sector and congratulated them on their achievements in the previous academic year. The sector has accomplished significant outcomes in radically and comprehensively reforming education and training activities.

The national high school graduation and university entrance exams were effectively organised, while the quality of education at all levels has been enhanced.

He also applauded Vietnamese students for obtaining high results at the international Olympiads in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and informatics.

Ahead of the new academic year, the President asked the education sector to push ahead with reforms and focus on building a safe, healthy and friendly environment for students, while improving the quality of education at all levels and raising students’ awareness of observing the law.

He also called for the development of education among ethnic minority groups and to improve care for students from policy beneficiary families while ensuring equal opportunities for all.

He expressed his hope that Vietnamese student’s would further promote the country’s traditions, nurture their aspirations to serve the fatherland and build a better life, in addition to gaining more outstanding results in studying and conducting research.
