The meeting, held in Da Nang, also saw the presence of Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh, and Politburo member and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh.
At the event, the PM also highlighted the success of the 13th National Party Congress, saying that the Congress passed the documents with a very high level of consensus.
He was also delighted to inform participants of the stable socio-economic development in the past year despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also asked local authorities to ensure that all families in the central region can welcome a warm, joyful and safe Tet amid the pandemic.
The government leader suggested that local Party committees grasp the documents passed at the 13th Party Congress to apply to their localities towards realising the socio-economic development goals for the next five years with a vision to 2030 and 2045.
Earlier that day, PM Phuc visited policy beneficiary families and needy households in Que Phu Commune, Que Son District, Quang Nam Province. He presented 200 gifts worth over VND1 million each to policy beneficiary and disadvantaged families in the commune and presented VND100 million to the locality to welcome Tet.
*Also on February 6, Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue paid a Tet visit to workers at the Yen Xa wastewater treatment plant in Hanoi.
The project collects and treats wastewater from To Lich River, Lu River, Nhue River and several new urban areas in Hanoi, which is expected to revive the aforementioned rivers.
The Party official emphasised the importance of environmental issues, noting that Hanoi should raise the rate of treated domestic and industrial wastewater to 50-55% within the next five years.
Politburo member Hue said that the Yen Xa wastewater treatment plant is an urgent and extremely important project in the environmental area of Hanoi using ODA loans that must ensure its progress and quality to be a model in the investment and cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Japan.
